We know how important taking care of your local environments are to you, which is why we’ve added these wonderful litter picking activity cards to our range of educational resources. They are a great way to help your children understand first hand the consequences of our waste on the environment. So whether you head off to your local park, beach, sports pitch or your own garden, these cards help to make it fun as well as educational.
Get yourself a litter picker and something to put the litter in when you find it and keep count of the types of litter you find. You can join up with a local group or school to make it a community effort. There are lots of different national groups for this including the Great British Beach Clean who collate the results for beach clean ups scientific data, or look at Surfers against sewage for their details. If you’re not sure where to start then head to the Wildlife Trust to read their advice for litter picks wherever you are.
