This gorgeous wooden sand writing tray is a lovely way to encourage little ones to explore mark making. Open ended play is such a great way for children to learn about how to make meaningful marks. Using inspiration from the world around them, with the things they see in their everyday life. Use alongside number or letter cards, emotions cards and other mark making prompts. Designed to encourage them to explore how to make their own marks.
With these sand trays, there is no right or wrong, as they can simply wipe it away and start again.
The slot at the top of the sand writing tray fits A6 flashcards perfectly and can be used with a range of flashcards or pictures. The board has been made long enough that children can begin to write simple cvc words when they reach that stage in their development.
Each tray comes with a sand pouch and writing pencil. However, children can use a range or implements to write with, using fingers, brushes, combs and more. Therefore, children can learn to explore how to make marks in a variety of ways and using a variety of tools.

The sand tray is 30cm long and 14cm wide. It is made from beech wood and is sanded smooth to touch. The sand tray and play sand including are both CE tested. Because the tray comes with a small pencil, please be careful using with young children.
